This month we will all celebrate (in America)

This month we will all celebrate (in America) the Thanksgiving Holiday.

This is a great time to sit back and reflect. Throughout 2018 and the first few months of this year, I was consumed with the preparations and work we were undertaking. In a way, it consumed me. In fact, I got ahead of myself and sometimes forgot to take time to breathe…..relax…..reflect…..and rest!

Moreover, I believe that the way to develop genuine humility is to practice it. It’s nice because you will get immediate inner feedback in the way of calm, easy feelings. So, the next time you have an opportunity to brag, resist the temptation.

Everyone talks incessantly about stress now, and how it has changed our lives and made most of us so unhappy. But less obviously, I think stress has also changed the quest for happiness itself, making it more aggressive and occupying more of our time.
But to me, at this point in my life, being happy is about having the space to appreciate the ordinary things that do in fact make me “happy”, though at first glance they might not be seen that way!
I used to think that happiness was something a person was so lucky to find and should never actually be mentioned. Baloney! So now, with happiness taking on a new modest cast, the fear of losing it is smaller, too.
And most importantly, (as previously mentioned)…practice humility. You see, humility and inner peace go hand in hand. The less compelled you are to try to prove yourself to others, the easier it is to feel peaceful inside.
Proving yourself is a dangerous trap. To me bragging actually dilutes the positive feelings you receive from an accomplishment. And ironically, the less you care about seeking approval, the more approval you seem to get. People are drawn to those with inner confidence.

Finally…..thank you for your patience. Blue Shark Vodka will be back in stock at all North Carolina ABC stores soon!
